Week 3: Using Data Pulled From Social Media

 Nolan Fasel

How to Use Facebook Ads Manager

On every social media website and websites in general ads are how the companies make a lot of their money, it is referred to as "Ad Revenue". The most common ads just pop up when scrolling on certain social media sites or on the side of pages when on other sites. The reason that many companies use ads is to reach a specific audience that searches for topics that relate to that company. This is able to occur because of the data that is collected by the social media platforms which collects the users behaviors, interests, and different forms of data. By doing this they can pinpoint the ads to send to users that coincide with their interests. This allows companies to not really have to spend too much time investing in the ads because they just have to pay for the ad to be on the site and the algorithm will do the rest. Being able to have this tool at a companies disposals allows them to not have to spend much time on it and it just brings in revenue to the company.

The different types of ads that are used are also very important to note and what different types of value they bring. The ads that are used do not necessarily have to be a link to something to buy a product. It could be a video showing a product, a topic, or just life in general. Being able to distinguish what the user on the social media site wants is important. If they want to see a product and be able to buy it that is what the ad must be. If they like to just read the articles or get information on certain things then that is what the ad should be. Being able to use the data that is pulled from social media sites will give a big advantage in the ad portion of a company. Being able to use tools that exponentially grow a company is how to become very successful.

One main mistake is when looking for a job only interviewing for big companies such as Fortune 500 companies and not having backup plans in case those interviews don't go well. Many job hunters get fixed on one specific job and if they don't get it they are all back to square one trying to find another job that perfectly fits them.  Nolan Fasel  There is nothing more important when going through the job hunting process than having confidence. It can be an adventure when looking for a job, it can be stressful when looking for a job, and it can destroy you self-esteem at times. That is why having self confidence throughout the entire process is paramount. Believe in your abilities and the things that you bring to the table from day one. Don't get discouraged when applying for jobs and not hearing anything back for days at a time. There is a process that these companies have to run through as well. When going into an interview let the confidence show. That is showing the interviewer that you know what you are doing and that will make the interview go much smoother.  In order to get jobs and to be successful in them confidence has to be there. It's not being boastful about yourself or your abilities, but it is important to be confident. Without it, it is just like going through the motions day to day. B...
