 Nolan Fasel  In chapter 1 of What Color is your Parachute Richard N. Bolles discusses how the changes in an economy can negatively and positively impact the way we search for jobs and how those jobs are filled. He states that in a good economy it is very hard for employers to fill their vacancies because many people in a good economy have good jobs and are not looking to change. Therefore, the employer according to Bolles, caters to the employee or the job hunter because they are not getting as many resumes sent in. Therefore, you can find more job-posting and openings because the companies are struggling to hire people. The most common ads just pop up when scrolling on certain social media sites or on the side of pages when on other sites. The reason that many companies use ads is to reach a specific audience that searches for topics that relate to that company. This is able to occur because of the data that is collected by the social media platforms which collects the users behaviors, interests, and different forms of data.
